November 2, 2009 by Lisa Santos · 2 Comments
Have you pinged your blog today?
It’s a good idea to “ping” your blog whenever you add a new post. “Pinging” is a way of letting the search engines know that you have added content to your blog.
Pinging is very simple just go to a pinging site such as www.feedburner.com or www.pingomatic.com and fill in the details of your blog. Then when you add posts to your blog, just go to their site and click the ping button.
This will get your blog post added to their news feed much faster than waiting for the search engines to find it.
Quick Tip#17 From Your Internet Marketing Virtual Assistant (Yahoo Answers)
September 28, 2009 by Lisa Santos · Leave a Comment
Yahoo Answers is an online community where people ask all sorts of questions on different topics looking for answers to them. You as a community member can gain points for having the best answer to the question. You’ll be surprised at the many questions left unanswered in many categories. You can become an “expert” within many fields by answering questions, and having relevant links point back to your site. It’s a quick way to build back links and have targeted users viewing your profile which will have your contact information and website link.
Be sure to never spam. It’s important to be friendly with your answers, and provide good relevant information. The goal here is to have the user trust you enough to learn more about you.
To get started simply browse the categories or you can search for questions by keywords. For example you can do a search for “making money” and it will list questions people have asked about “making money”.
Quick Tip#16 From Your Internet Marketing Virtual Assistant (Use The Power of Video Sharing)

It’s time for another quick tip. Let’s talk about video sharing.
Video sharing is wildly popular and you can use it to get a flood of targeted traffic to your website.
Do this by creating a short introduction or how to video and posting it in a social video sharing site like YouTube. Provide a few references to your site with your URL of course. When you post your video be sure to use a catchy title, teasing description, and appropriate tags to make it easy for others to find. Then copy the code that video site provides you with and embed the link to your video on your site. This will save your bandwidth and storage space because the video will be hosted on the video sharing site that you are using.
Another benefit of using a video sharing site is that they provide a “Send to Friend” feature for your video. This feature is a link that allows others to share your video with a friend or hopefully more.
I hope you found this tip helpful and don’t forget if you have any questions let me know.

As you begin to blog you will find that blogging is not as formal as a standard web page. In fact it can make it seem more accessible and friendly, if the blog is written in a more conversational style.
You can express your views in a more informal way on any given topic rather than just telling the reader what it is that you want to convey to them. This allows your reader to become more interested and involved in what you have to say.
Now, how often you should you be posting to your blog?
Although there isn’t an exact science when it comes to how often you should post it is a good idea to post regularly but not too much. When you start to build up a readership, you need to post regularly to keep them coming back. But don’t start posting dozens of times a day, or your blog may be seen as Spam by the search engines and this could have a serious effect on your ranking.
After you have been posting for a while you will find your own formula for posting simply by keeping track of the results you receive.
